Älvdalens Camping

In the fabulously beautiful northern parts of Dalarna, you can find us at Älvdalen campsite. We are located between Älvdalen and the Österdal River, with the banks of the Österdal River right next to the campsite and Älvdalen town centre 200 metres away. Here we have all the nature you could wish for and a cosy little town right next to the campsite area. We are open all year round so you can enjoy and take in all the different seasons.

We have pitches for caravans / motorhomes, tents and we also have cottages for rent.

We have 100 camping pitches, of which 72 are with EL. The camping pitches are 100 sqm. In the photo gallery you can see a map of the camping area.

As for the cottages, we have 36 well-equipped cottages for rent in different sizes and varieties.

Inside the campsite there are also:

• Swimming pool and ice rink
• Tennis court and beach volleyball
• Separate building for kitchen and TV room
• Separate building for WC/shower/washing machine
• Minigolf
• WIFI

In and outside the campsite there are many different activities to enjoy! With our ideal location between Österdalälven and Älvdalen, we have everything from fun nature activities to shopping and museums in town. We can give you a few examples:

For those of you interested in fishing, there are great waters for fly fishing. If you are a beginner, there are both one-day and weekend courses where you can learn all about fly fishing. Of course, equipment is included during the course and these are held from May all the way through to October.

Another popular activity is canoeing along the Österdal River. Here you can paddle with beautiful scenery in all directions and there are plenty of different resting places to take a coffee break. The Österdal River is home to a large population of beavers, so there's a good chance you'll find company during your coffee break. Canoes are available for hire directly from the campsite.

Moose safari is another popular activity that our guests highly appreciate. Our experienced nature guides run these. If luck is on your side, you can also get acquainted with deer, grouse and other small game.

In winter we have ski trails and even snowmobiles for hire.

In addition to these activities, there are plenty of others:

• Mountain biking with several different kinds of trails. The trails are suitable for everyone from beginners all the way up to the really experienced.
• Orsa Predator Park is about 45 minutes by car from the campsite. This is Europe's largest predator park!
• Hikes led by our experienced nature guides.

In the town of Älvdalen itself, you will find the Porphyry and Hagstrom Museum, where you can see the classic Hagstrom guitars, as well as vases and other items made of porphyry. For those of you who don't know, Älvdalen has a rich history with porphyry. Some even call porphyry Älvdalens diamond.

The town is also home to Älvdalen Church, which dates back to 1585. We recommend a visit to the church, which today is an important part of Älvdalen's history.

It is an experience in itself to just wander around Älvdalen and take in the surroundings and why not stop at a cafe for coffee when the feeling hits.

• The nearest major city is Mora, 41 km away
• The campsite is located along county road 70 which runs straight through Älvdalen
• The gate to the campsite closes at 23:00
• Dogs are welcome.
