Askehøj Camping is a beautiful campsite located in the middle of the scenic Central Jutland countryside between Silkeborg and Skanderborg. At Askehøj Camping you'll find modern facilities including two service buildings with family shower rooms, kitchen facilities and free hot water. For those looking for relaxation and fun, the campsite has a large pool area with a 21-metre water slide and a separate children's pool. This area is free for all guests and a popular meeting point on hot summer days. There is also a large playground with bouncy castles and a separate playground for children under six years old.

For nature lovers, Himmelbjerget is an amazing experience. You can choose to take the Hjejlen or drive there by car. The area offers beautiful views and great hiking routes.

Silkeborg is also home to AQUA Aquarium & Zoo, Northern Europe's largest freshwater aquarium where you can experience fish, otters and other exciting animals. Labyrinthia, Europe's largest 3D labyrinth, is a fun and challenging experience for the whole family.

If you like big experiences, LEGOLAND and Givskud Zoo are only 80 kilometres away, making them great day trips. Djurs Sommerland, one of Denmark's largest theme parks, is also within easy driving distance and discounted tickets can be purchased at the campsite.

In the surrounding area you'll also find fantastic nature experiences. There are good hiking and cycling routes in Linå Vesterskov forest and it's only one kilometre to Julsø, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the water with Himmelbjerget in the background.

The campsite is open from spring to autumn and reservations are recommended during the high season as it is a popular destination for both domestic and international campers.

Check-in is possible from 1pm and check-out must be completed by 11am on the day of departure. If you rent a cabin or caravan, it is possible to purchase final cleaning, but you can also choose to do it yourself.

Dogs are welcome at the campsite as long as they are kept on a lead and the owner is considerate of other guests. There is also an area where dogs can be walked freely.

Shopping opportunities can be found in the nearby towns of Silkeborg and Skanderborg, where there are supermarkets and speciality shops. At the campsite you can buy ice cream, snacks and some groceries.
