Description

Gullmarsbadens Camping has been around since the 1950s - and recently it was clear that we can continue to run the campsite, after a long period of uncertainty about beach protection. Now we are breathing life into something new, without losing the old.

We are a small and personal campsite right by the sea, within walking distance of Lysekil. There are few but sought-after pitches, an original building from the 50s and 60s and an atmosphere that many describe as a mix of "Macken" and "Sunes sommar". It's authentic, unpretentious - and real.

For midsummer, our new start started with happy guests, dog baths at sunset, freshly brewed coffee and homemade croissants. We are now working on new signs, better information and a brand new website - but we will never remove the genuine feeling.

Everyone is welcome, both people and dogs!

Please bear with us as some parts of the campsite are currently being renovated. We are gradually making improvements to make your stay even better - but we do it with a gentle hand, so that the feeling of Gullmarsbaden will always remain.

Nearby

Near the campsite you will find a beach, forest and a footpath to Lysekil. The centre of Lysekil is 2.5 km away. The area offers nature experiences, cliffs, hiking trails and excursion destinations such as Havets Hus, Norra Grundsund, Brodalen and Stångehuvud. Lysekil, also known as the "City by the Sea", is found at the far end of the beautiful west coast of Bohuslän, where Gullmarsfjorden is open to the sea. The beautiful archipelago environment together with a very active city life and outdoor activities make this a very popular destination.

In 2019, Lysekil was named Sweden's most campervan-friendly municipality. This is of course due to the beautiful surroundings and the fact that there are several, both private and municipal, pitches and campsites in the area. Central, close to the sea and beautifully located in nature's most beautiful places.

Lysekil originates from an old fishing community but today offers activities and experiences for the whole family. You'll find everything from small, charming, well-preserved neighbourhoods from the past, to cold bath houses and even an aquarium.

When you're tired of wandering around all the cafés and restaurants offering the delights of the sea, we recommend a visit to the Aquarium: House of the Sea. In this well-maintained and beautiful tunnel aquarium, you can see porbeagle sharks, sea eels, starfish and much more. If you're even more adventurous, you'll also find activities such as climbing, diving and fishing trips.

As evening falls, you can hire a sea kayak and watch the sunset in concert with the salt-splashed atmosphere and enjoy the city skyline.

When you're done with Lysekil, you can also head to a number of cosy spots from here. A hot tip is the ferry that takes you across Gullmarsfjorden and finally leads to Skaftölandet. Here you will find small picturesque villages such as Fiskebäckskil and Grundsund.

Other popular destinations that you don't want to miss during your stay are the rock carvings just outside Brastad, the beautiful Härnäset, which you will find where Brofjorden and Åbyfjorden meet, Röe Gård located in Brodalen and the climbing-friendly cliffs in Träleberg and Lyse.

Don't miss out on supporting and visiting the local farm shops located in the surroundings of Lysekil and Gullmarsbadens camping.

Good to know

The campsite is open during the summer and is manned by reception staff every day. Guests check in "SELF SERVICE CHECK-IN" and pitch themselves as much as possible, but we are available for help and questions on site or by phone outside opening hours.

Right now we are making improvements, updates in the area and everything that has to do with our dear Camping. We are labelling sites, clarifying, updating signs, reviewing the service and have a new website with more information:

Gullmarsbadenscamping.se

Cleaning is done daily. It's simple, close to nature and always welcoming.

The entire campsite and beach are dog-friendly, and we welcome both two-legged and four-legged guests. There is plenty of space for walking, swimming and relaxing with your dog.

A warm welcome!
