Öje Bad & Camping

The campsite is located on the 10 km long Öjesjön lake. Here there is a fantastic swimming area and sandy beach to enjoy. If you want to go out on the lake there are canoes for hire. The fishing in Lake Öjesjön is very good. It is the largest lake in the area with the most number of fish species. Here you can catch everything from pike, perch, whitefish, vendace, brown trout and roach. Fishing licence required!

Near the campsite there is a tourist centre, hiking trails and snowmobile trails, ski tracks and an ice rink depending on when you visit the area. Öje is particularly suitable for those who ride mountain bikes. Car traffic is virtually non-existent and there are miles of winding forest roads along the area. Both bears and moose are found here and with a little luck you might catch a glimpse of the animals. Along the Ogströmmen river you can take a break and enjoy the beautiful views.

The old leather factory that was here in the past has now become a museum. It has remained untouched since the owner retired, locked the door and went home. Visiting the museum is like riding a time machine back in time where old tools, templates, raw materials, leather machines, patterns, buttons and other accessories remain as if someone was there yesterday.

Inside Öje there is a restaurant called Vita Älgen and a grocery store.
