Papinniemi Camping

Clear skies and a long sandy beach, a gentle summer breeze and the soothing smell of pine trees. The clear waters of Lake Pyhäjärvi open up on both sides of Papinniemi. At the restaurant you can enjoy locally sourced food, cold drinks or ice cream. You can get out on the water by motorboat, rowing boat, canoe or SUP board and ride the forest trails on a fatbike. There are several accommodation options, from cottages to camping sites.

The Papinniemi tourist area offers pleasant experiences in the Uukuniemi area of Parikkala municipality, close to the eastern border. Several cottages are available with their own saunas, sauna cabins and a mobile home area on the beach. There is a nice playground for children. The newest cottages have all amenities and a jacuzzi/outdoor pool.

Campervans can be parked at Papinnieme on the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi. The meadow has beautiful sandy beaches on both sides and large trees provide shade in the middle. The area is famous for its tranquillity, beauty and cleanliness. For many tourists, a short visit to Papinniemi has turned into a relaxing holiday of several days. For many, the hardest part has been leaving. 30 electrically powered motorhome parking spaces are available. NOTE: It is not possible to reserve certain pitches and pitches are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Camping in Papinnieme is easy and comfortable. You can pitch your tent near the beach in the shade of the trees or on a hillside for a more natural and peaceful experience, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
