Rantajärvi Vildmark

Hello and a warm welcome to Rantajärvi Wilderness! Rantajärvi Vildmark is open all year round and every day. This is the place for those who are looking for safe holiday accommodation in the middle of the Torne Valley. Experience the beautiful nature with fresh water and extensive forests. Here is real winter December to March and often visible northern lights. Also experience nature's magical changes between the seasons.

There are 5 cosy cottages with a total of 30 beds suitable for small and larger groups. The cottages are well built with proper light and nice wooden interiors. All cottages have WC, shower, kitchen, fridge, kitchenware, microwave, cooking utensils, kettle, coffee maker, TV and free wifi. On arrival, beds are made and 2 towels per person are included in the service. Residents have free access to the electric sauna in the courtyard.

There are 5 pitches with 16 amp electricity for motorhomes and caravans in the car park.

Rantajärvi Wilderness is known for its beautiful nature and various activities such as Naarajärvi wilderness camp, hiking in a forest environment, swimming areas, wood-fired saunas, barbecue huts, canoes, rowing boats, snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobile trails, northern lights viewing, fishing in lakes and streams, ice fishing on lake ice and forest land 6900 hectares with moose hunting and small game hunting. Sport fishing for pike, perch and trout in lakes Rantajärvi and Naarajärvi.

We co-operate with local small businesses and can offer visits to reindeer farms and sled dog tours with Siberian husky dogs. Rantajärvi Wilderness is located in the Arctic Circle area 10 km west of the Torne River in Övertorneå municipality.

The Arctic Circle moves annually 14.5 metres northwards on the ground for about 10000 years and then turns south again. In 3004, the Arctic Circle is in the centre of Rantajärvi.
