Welcome to Recreatiepark de Uilenburg, a green oasis located among the picturesque farmlands of the heart of Friesland. Our beautiful park campsite, bordered by trees and bushes, offers a serene and sheltered environment where you can experience the ultimate holiday feeling. With us, you can stay overnight in safari tents, log cabins, your own tent, caravan or motorhome. Listen to the silence and enjoy the cheerful twittering of the birds around you.

Recreatiepark de Uilenburg has a rich history, with a villa more than a century old and a beautiful park garden. Three of our four safari tents are located right by the villa pond, while the fourth tent is on the edge of the food-picking forest. From your terrace, you have a breathtaking view over the vast farmlands to the horizon. Our campsite offers not only peace and quiet but also plenty of opportunities for active recreation on both land and water.

The campsite has 18 spacious pitches for caravans and tents, each with its own power supply. Central sanitary facilities with showers and toilets are located behind the former water purification shed, with the inviting food-picking forest directly behind. Pick your own fresh mint for a delicious cup of mint tea, it doesn't get any fresher!

Park your car out of sight in the paved car park next to the park. Of course, you can use your car to unload your caravan or camping equipment at your pitch. Once settled, you can unfold your chairs and enjoy the convivial peace that our campsite offers.

For lovers of water sports, we offer nine boats for hire: four sloops, three touring fishing boats and two Valken (sailing boats). Recreatiepark de Uilenburg is located in the heart of water-rich Friesland, with the Oudhof and the Witte and Zwarte Brekken at the end of the canal to the park. These sheltered waters are perfect for sailing trips and tours with our motorboats or sloops. You can moor for free at beautiful moorings, including some mooring (buoys) for a delicious lunch or to enjoy the sunset.

The surroundings of Recreatiepark de Uilenburg have a lot to offer both nature lovers and adventurers. A short distance from the campsite you will find the beautiful Oudhof and the Witte and Zwarte Brekken, ideal for sailing trips and boat rides. For longer sailing trips, you can sail to the Sneekermeer and the Langweerder Wielen, both nearby and part of the extensive Frisian waterways network.

The nearby town of Sneek is worth a visit, famous for its historic city centre and the annual Sneekweek, Europe's largest inland sailing event. Here you will also find a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops. For a day at the beach, drive to the IJsselmeer, where you can swim, sunbathe and practice various water sports.

The picturesque village of Hommerts offers some cosy eateries and shops, perfect for a relaxing afternoon out. The surrounding nature areas are ideal for hiking and cycling, where you can enjoy the unspoilt Frisian landscapes.

Before your arrival at Recreatiepark de Uilenburg, it is good to know that we provide clean and hygienic sanitary facilities every day. We kindly ask our guests to leave these tidy after use. Dogs are welcome on the campsite, but must be kept on a leash at all times to ensure the peace and safety of all guests.

We offer free WiFi on the campsite, so you can always stay connected. For daily shopping and other necessities, visit the nearby villages, where several shops and supermarkets are available.
