In the magnificent nature of Bergslagen, next to a small lake is the yoga retreat farm Shambala Gatherings, Borntorpet. This is a retreat centre with a lovely family feel surrounded by Swedish nature. A yoga community that invites teachers from all corners of the world.

The centre offers meditation, yoga, dance and a number of spiritual disciplines. Here you can let go of the outside world and give space and time to go deep into yourself.

After great demand and requests, there is now a unique opportunity for motorhomes, caravans and tents to take part in this fantastic place. The pitches are beautifully located right next to the retreat and are of course also suitable for a shorter visit.

Access to showers and toilets is available in the building.

The area around Shambala Gatherings, Borntorpet is characterised by deep forests, lovely hiking trails, beautiful forest walks and above all a rich wildlife. Some of the neighbours you will find in the surroundings include moose, wolves and beavers. The forest also offers great opportunities for cycling.

Facilities on the site include two yoga rooms, a library, a dining room with a wooden deck facing the lake, a floating sauna on the lake, a glamping tent, a tepee with a fireplace and separate forest cabins.

The heart of Shambala Gatherings, Borntorpet is undoubtedly the kitchen. It is 100% vegan and is made from the best possible organic ingredients. Here, attention to detail is brought together in a peaceful, creative and meticulous atmosphere to ensure that you are at your best throughout your stay. Ever since 2005 when the retreat started with the vision of becoming one with nature and living a life dedicated to community and yoga, this artist collective has constantly evolved. Today it is a centre that offers retreats, courses and a number of trainings. The retreats come in many different guises depending on when in the year you choose to visit.

During the high season from May to September, Shambala is truly magical. It is then home to a large international community full of energy with many meetings. In midsummer, the festival atmosphere kicks in with bright summer nights and pleasant temperatures.

In winter, the area is usually embedded in calm, silence and provides space for both time and reflection. The off-season takes place between October and April and is run by a small team focusing on one retreat at a time.

If you need to supplement with something during your stay, both Ica and Coop are within walking distance. Skinnskatteberg town centre also has restaurants, pharmacies, systembolaget and kiosks on hand.

It is also worth mentioning that every summer a well-attended choir meeting is held here, with both choirs and solo artists coming from both Sweden and other countries.

Shambala Gatherings, Borntorpet is open all year round. The entire facility is alcohol-free and is expected to be quiet after 10pm each day. Access to wifi is available.
